Gridstack joins Global Green Group to accelerate climate-tech growth

Norwegian climate-technology company Gridstack is becoming part of Global Green Group, a Norway-based investment group focused on technologies and solutions supporting the green transition in industry.

Global Green Group recently acquired the Energy Solutions unit of Hydro Rein, with customers across Canada, Germany and Sweden. Following the acquisition, the business has been renamed Global Green Intelligent Energy. As owner of Intelligent Energy and now also ownership in Gridstack, Global Green Group is strengthening its position to support industrial, commercial and power-intensive customers with advanced expertise in battery storage and solar energy solutions.

All existing Gridstack employees will continue with the business, with continuity of operations, long-term stability and preservation of close customer relationships as key priorities. Gridstack will continue to operate from its Stavanger office, while Global Green Intelligent Energy will be headquartered in Fornebu, Oslo. Sales pipelines and ongoing projects will be shared as part of the partnership.

Global Green Group is increasing its investments in battery and solar deployment across Europe and sees the partnership with Gridstack as part of a broader consolidation strategy within the renewable energy and energy-storage sector.

“With an established customer base, profitable assets across multiple markets, and proven solutions, Global Green Group provides a strong platform for scalable growth,” said Peer Cappelen Brantzeg, Chairman of Global Green Group.

“There are strong synergies between Global Green Intelligent Energy’s asset base and Gridstack’s deep competence in batteries. While solar power has slowed in Norway, activity across Europe remains strong, particularly within energy storage. Our ambition is to build a robust climate-technology company and take it public within three to five years.”

Gridstack has in recent years developed advanced battery-based solutions for grid support, energy flexibility and investment optimization. These capabilities are viewed as highly complementary to Global Green Intelligent Energy’s existing portfolio, which includes multiple solar systems with integrated battery storage.

“This partnership gives Gridstack the opportunity to scale faster as part of a larger industrial platform, while maintaining our focus on high-quality execution and technical excellence,” said Steinar Lea, Gridstack CEO.

“We see strong alignment with Global Green Group’s ambitions and look forward to contributing our energy-storage expertise to a broader European growth platform.”

As part of the transaction, Gridstack will be rebranded to Global Green Energy Storage, reflecting its role within the Group and its long-term strategic focus.
